What we liked is that when we had a flat tire, Alamo replaced our car quickly. What could have been better is that a representative works have been at the counter when we arrived. Over-all a great experience!

the type of vehicle waiting for me based on the number of suitcases was not acceptable. Just because my flight was delayed. They dont have nice size vehicles as advertised on their site . I would not use this site again or ALAMO . Customer service sent us outside of the airport and we got a compact car when I paid for a full size SUV, I was delivered a day later a nissan X trail and no one could fit on the third seat ... My vacation was not enjoyable due to the type of vehicle I was stucked with . I expected a full size SUV and I got a mini SUV we could not visit all the places we wanted to .

The staff was very friendly and we ended up with a great car. However, pickup and dropoff each took 1.5 hours with only one other person in line ahead of us. The process needs to be streamlined better; there's no reason it should take that long to print out and sign documents.

There is not adequate communication about insurance requirements when booking the car. I had car insurance through my trip insurance and was allowed to book with that. When I got to the pickup, I was told I had to obtain expensive insurance from the rental company. When sprung upon me at pickup it feels like extortion. I will never book through this company again.

Arrived at counter to pickup my car, only they ran out of the car I reserved. They offered me a large suv that was 2.5 times more expensive or a subcompact that wouldn’t hold our passengers/luggage. Ended up leaving without a car after 75 minutes at the counter. Cabs ended up costing me much more than what I reserved.

The car insurance was higher than the cost of the 4 day rental. The Allianz insurance I purchase through you was rejected. “It doesn’t cover us.” The staff was purposely deceitful about the prices by phrasing and purposeful omission. The car was booked for 5 days, but since they were not open until after my returning flight, it was returned a day early. The rental day was not reimbursed, “because I booked in advance and not there in person.” So I was forced to pay an extra day of rental and insurance. There were angry customers around me complaining of a similar experience. I now understand why. Needless to say, I will never rent a vehicle through them again.

No office inside the airport. No signage. No shuttle pickup. And that’s just for starters. Wrong car the first try, had to come BACK to the airport the next morning for my reserved car. Long wait time., overall subpar experience.

I was charged for additional insurance when making the reservation and when i picked up my car was told the insurance I had was not acceptable and needed to take out budgets insurance which ended up costing me double what i was expecting to pay. car rental pick up in Santo Domingo is a very long and drawn out procedure it took me over 30 minutes to complete all the paper work and get the required documents and pay so i could go and get the car. the entire pick up process from time I got to the counter until I drove off the lot was over an hour which is just not acceptable. When finally departing with the car I was not informed that on return I must not follow signs to car rental drop off but go towards the terminal where the new budget office is. So on my return I went to the car rental area and once inside I realized I was in the wrong spot and then could not exit as needed a ticket to exit called budget who said they would come get me in about 5 minutes but this did not happen after waiting for about 20 minutes was fortunate that an employee from another rental company gave me an exit ticket so I get out and told me where to go. When I finally got to the budget drop off office and asked why I was not informed not to follow car rental signs was told but you picked the car up from here you should have know. Though by using a well know company would avoid all these issues but realize that was not the case. if renting cars at Las Americas airport Santo Domingo factor in at least 1 hour or more to get your car

The reception staff terrorize you if you’ve taken out Allianz insurance as offered through the Kayak/Expedia platform (as it happens, it would have been cheaper to purchase coverage on site) but we found that experience very unpleasant. The AC was in and out, but otherwise, everything was fine.
