Pros (+) Thermostat worked great in rooms. Courtyard area relaxing and peaceful. Comfortable beds, updated modern bathrooms, high water pressure in shower, provided soap, lotion, shampoo. Let us keep luggage behind check-in counter before and after checkout. Let us keep our vehicle parked in the hotel parking after we checked out.
Cons (-) Old smell in lobby area, space in door frame in men’s restroom in main floor when locked where you can see outside.

Pros (+) The quirkyness of the hotel and the room was quite comfortable. Also, the extra touch of cookies and sherry at the end of the day is nice.
Cons (-) The coffee from the machine was terrible. We ended up going out for breakfast most mornings due to the awful coffee

Pros (+) Quirky atmosphere with sherry and cookies in the afternoon and a decent breakfast offering in the morning. Our room had a working fireplace that we got a duraflame log per night to use and it made it so very cozy. Staff was kind and courteous. We had an excellent time. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place in SF

Pros (+) The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is always someone in the front to unlock the front door since it remains lock most of the time for security reasons. The breakfast was nice and the breakfast staff was very attentive. The room and hotel overall has a great vintage Victorian decor. The location was very convenient near Japantown and very safe and quiet. Next time we come back to San Fr...
Cons (-) I didn't like hearing about the reported haunting in Room 410, but mjy wife did! LOL!

Pros (+) Really sweet 18th-19th century charm with pretty authentic furniture and artwork. Like a different world. Many sofas to sit on, fireplace. It was cozy and the guests were nice, staff very helpful. The bed was large and comfy, we didn't specifically ask for a baby bed but got that. It was quiet so for relaxation it was right. It was great the hotel was kid-friendly and there were not many things ki...
Cons (-) Breakfast was not great - very basic, seemed like a low quality, wished more actual ceramic and less one-use cups around coffee machine, and hot water option in breakfast hall. Some of the artwork seemed quite unprofessional and quickly done pieces of the painting style of 18th-19th centuries.
