Pros (+) Staff were very welcoming and friendly!
Cons (-) A narrow staircase to get upstairs to the reception. If you have a lot of luggage, this could be a problem.

Pros (+) The location, room, comfortable bed and breakfast were all great
Cons (-) There was tv noise nearly all night from the room next door. This was an interconnecting room. Maybe installing acoustic door seals here would have helped. I also heard the noise from the compressor starting up periodically throughout the night. Maybe it was from a ventilation or air conditioning system from a roof top nearby. I'm not sure if double glazing is installed, but I did not sleep well t...

Pros (+) Absolutely beautiful old building but done with a modern decor, while still keeping the charm and history. Absolutely loved that ear plugs were provided, though we did not need them. The emergency torch in the wardrobe was a nice touch too.
Cons (-) The stairs but staff were more than happy to assist with luggage.

Pros (+) We have stayed many times over the years and the recent refurbishment sets it apart , love it .
Cons (-) We were placed into another wise lovely room , however, unbeknown to us at check in the headboard of our bed was immediately against a builders scaffold barely separated from ouselves by a curtained window. At 7.00am we were rudely awakened by heavy builders equipment and very noisy site crew. We literally opened the window and introduced ourselves! The management should be ashamed to have allowed...

Peter, Sept 2025
Pros (+) Very nice room and hotel. Excellent location adjacent to Circular Quay.
Cons (-) Being told you have paid for breakfast then finding out menu selection is limited to one(or two small) items is disappointing. Only one power point in the room(in the bathroom) and a couple of instant coffee sachets feels ungenerous. No onsite parking or arrangement for discount with Wilson parking(cost for 2.5 days was $228)
