Charming and super close to cruise terminal
Best hotel breakfast ever! Staff were so friendly and took time to help us plan our visit. Amazing location right by the harbour bridge and train station. Really comfortable bed! Would definitely stay here again.
Location excellent, breakfast included a bonus
All the steps up and down through out hotel. That being said we are an older couple. The night we were there there was.live music (if you could call it that) We could just hear the head banging background and a horrible sort of resonating from speakers. They have the music Wednesday and Sunday.
The quality of the renovation was excellent,modern but respecting the heritage.
We had a room for 3 people. Beds were set up for 3, but only 2 towels, glasses and tea/coffee facilities for 2. Would have liked to have bottled water available.
I loved the interior design, it was such a beautiful room and bathroom. The guest sitting room and rooftop terrace were lovely. Breakfasts were delicious and generous. I also enjoyed the live music in the front bar - all the classics, was fun to join in!
No fault of The Russell at all but a famous cafe chain down the road brought wheely bins down the lane very noisily at 5.30am, waking me up.
The location of the hotel is wonderful for us.
We could not believe that we were assigned a room without air conditioning. For the first night of our two night stay the temperature in Sydney was above 30 degrees C and as our room only had an overhead fan the temperature in the room made sleep almost impossible. As we were obviously elderly, the fact that we were allocated a non-air conditioned room is inexcusable. We cannot understand that aft...Read more
Superb central location - it was so easy to get to the hotel via train and light rail. The hotel was accommodating in allowing us to leave luggage earlier in the day before check in when we arrived in Sydney. All attractions are within walking distance, the breakfast was great and service from staff wonderful!

In Room 10. Lovely set up and very comfy. Awesome location and nice breakfast included - would stay again.
A barista coffee should be included with breakfast. Other than that, everything was great.
