The pick up process was terrible. We waited for over 1.5 hours in line to pick up our car that was reserved well in advance.
Pros:Car was gas friendly
Cons:The windshield wipers barely wiped the water off the car and the headlights were foggy so when it rained it was hard to drive even when it wasn’t raining hard
The car was very clean and nice. The pick up of the vehicle was great and my car was ready to go as soon as I arrived off the plane for pick up. It has been over 24 hours And I still have not received my 300$ deposit, nor have a received an email or text about my deposit. I returned the car in the exact same condition as well as with a full tank of gas. This is unacceptable. When I asked the lady at the desk when I would receive my deposit back she said “whenever the guy down in returns closes out your ticket”
Easy drop off and return. Price was much higher than continental US pricing.
We waited at the counter in line for 2 hours and 45 minutes to complete the paperwork with the agent. After being checked in we then waited another 45 to get the car. We got into San Juan around 4:30pm and figured with a 25min commute we’d have most the night to relax on the beach at the hotel. We didn’t get out of the airport car rental until 8:30pm. We lost a night of our vacation due to Avis’ poor service, and we will never use them again.
