Volkswagen car hires in Gatwick

I had to wait over an hour for the only person working the rental desk at the hotel to show up. I kept calling and he said 10 more minutes and I will be there.

They took forever!!!! I have never booked with them because of the line I see everytime I get into LA but I just happened to land at 1am and thought it wouldn't be busy but we had to wait 2 hours for a car... ridiculous.

Reserved a certain vehicle and when I went there they didn't have any available and had to cancel my reservation.

I was pleased with everything except that they marked off the on me the same minute windshield ding that was noted in the previous damages list when I picked up the car, presumably because I had added insurance, so they can file another claim. Possibly just an error, but judging from the previous reviews it seems suspicious.

I was very pleased with the unexpected SIGNIFICANT upgrade -- I originally had booked a convertible, expecting just a Mustang convertible, so you can only imagine how happy I was when I arrived at the counter and was upgraded to a relatively brand new BMW Z4 at the same rate! Even better, with the original reservation, I would have had to return the car the next day by 7:30PM to the Orlando Airport and be charged two days' rate (my pick up was at 5PM Saturday, needing to return by 7:30PM Sunday and otherwise see a MASSIVE rate hike from ~$150 to ~$600). However, because of the change in vehicles, I could return it on Monday by 5PM for the original rate of ~$150 at the hotel I was staying in, saving me a LOT of hassle. I imagine Sixt may have lost some money with my reservation, but a great experience from start to finish.for me!

It was such a pleasure walking into the Rent-A-Car company, and immediately accosted with a beautiful smile and offer of coffee or drinks. What a pleasant experience.!! Everyone was delightful. It's the little things that make people want to return to a business offering a service. I will definitely talk about my experience at six with all my friends and I will definitely rent from them again.

Although we reached out during their normal business hours, we were never able to pick up the car, because we weren’t able to contact them to get the shuttle to the location. We finally got in contact with someone who told us she would call us back with an update on when to expect the shuttle, but she never called us back.

The car made an insane vibrating bass sound that people could hear from outside, it sounded like there was some black market subwoofer in there. I rented this car to attend my grandfathers FUNERAL. I’m in the procession sounding like I’m blasting bass filled music! I tried to call them to be like what on earth and they never answered. When I returned the vehicle and reported the noise to them they were like “oh yeah we know about that, this type of car is probably going to get recalled because they all make that noise.” Seems like something one would mention BEFORE. Also took like 45 minutes to get the car because they had one person at the desk and the people in front of us didn’t have a shred of the details they needed so there was just a line forming behind them. Also the car was overdue for an oil change by THREE THOUSAND miles and the car kept sending an alert about how the oil life was at 0%. When I told them this when dropping off the car they were just like “oh yeah we know”

They said pickup was at the airport. It is not. You have to walk 1/3 mile with your luggage to take a shuttle to their place which is 15 minutes away. I waited thirty minutes for the shuttle and finally gave up and rented from another company.

They forced to take an Insurance which was not included in my réservation which I refuser. They Said you may or you leave …

pick up time was quite long but it was a busy day and I just missed one bus so 30 mins wait for the next. Better instructions to locate the bus would help

Yes routes is not in the terminal and yes you will need a shuttle but if you are just renting a car ( as I was and not flying in) what a great deal. Great selection, great prices and great service. Shout out to Aman and her customer care . I highly recommend Routes

Watch out this company. They are total scam. After booking the car online, I was tried to get charged extra $600 for nonsense insurance. I wasn’t informed by the insurance when I was booking the car. I cancelled my booking and they still charged me. I am taking legal action and I don’t eant anyone getting effected the same scam. Go book it from big companies, it is much more cheaper

Pick up and drop off was fast and professional! Great value for the car size and rental time. Shuttle service to the airport could be better. We waited almost a whole hour after dropping off our vehicle.

The car wasn't ready, meaning it was extremely dirty. Also the insurance was 3 times the price for the rent. The person in the office was somewhat helpful .. don't recommend.

That didn't have a car for us.

The worst place to rent a car ever! This place was a scam! Save your self money and time and do not go there! They are a scam!!!
