They would not allow me to pay the full price online. When he went to pick up the car. They wouldn't take my card over the phone. A very bad situation. Could have left him stranded at the airport.

Pickup was rough. Budget counter was shutdown, Avis rep was nice, but it took three trips back and forth to the garage just to get a car as they didn’t have what we reserved nearly making us late for our appt elsewhere. Upcharges galore for adding a driver and toll pass meant it was almost double the quoted rate, the car was too small and dirty, and had issues. Drop off went smooth and that rep was nice, but after renting from Enterprise for years and getting upgrades and great customer service, I’ll never rent from Budget again.

I returned the van 2 hours before it was due back. Their rep must not have filed the paperwork properly because Budget is still asking me to return the vehicle - 2 weeks later. My credit card company declined all the charges Budget processed against me and I had to get a new card due to perceived Fraud on Budget's end. What the Hell

A previous renter had obviously smoked an our car, as our car smelled of stale cigarette smoke. We didn't fully appreciate this until we had driven out of the lot and it was very late at night and there was a line of about 80 people at the Avis counter, so we could not realistically go back and exchange it. Avis should not be renting cars in which people have obviously smoked. Now all of our clothes and belonging smell like steel cigarette smoke. Yuck!

They cleaned it but there was a film and really clean windshields are one of my OCD things so I noticed it. Otherwise, great people and they did a great job. I would definitely rent from them again.

horrible. 0/10 would never recommend to anyone. Kayak says its at the airport but it's 10-15 car ride away NOT where all the other rental cars are. I had to UBER to the rental pickup, and then upon return, they drove me (in my rental car) to the rental car shuttle, which i then had to take to the airport. Complete fraud of a rental car company.

I did NOT rent a car that was off site! The listing clearly said “In Terminal” while others said “Shuttle.” I chose it specifically for that reason. Then when I got to the Avis counter they had no reservation for me and I ended up having to spend $147/day for a last minute rental. I never received an email from Kayak with my reservation either. I am disputing the charge. I have been pleased with Kayak before and used them many times but this was not a good experience at all and I feel very ripped off.

Airport Van Rental is NOT located at the DFW rental car center as you will be lead to believe! It is not obvious anywhere. You cannot take the rental car shuttle to get to them. You must call them and arrange for a pickup that takes forever. When returning vehicle after hours, we were instructed to just park their car at the rental car center and to leave key behind fuel door. The rental car center has listed everywhere that parking is limited to 2 hours or the vehicle will get towed, so this method of return just seems sketchy. Van was older than what you would expect from a rental, with 98,000 miles on it. Staff are very friendly. Overall, the hassle was not worth the few dollars saved.

The pickup and dropoff was a little confusing since they are off site from the airport, and you have to take two shuttles to arrive at their facility. They also have a strange requirement that you must have a comprehensive vehicle coverage on your own car to rent from them, which I heard many clients loudly complaining about. Luckily, my travel credit card offers full coverage on rentals and they accepted that. The process was smooth for me. The car I rented had no gas in it, but they offered me another SUV that was smaller (all they had at the time) but I accepted the SUV with no gas because it was the model I wanted. Not a major issue though as the gas station was near by. Overall a positive experience!

The service and car were wonderful. The only criticism is the insurance policies. My personal insurance will cover everything but loss of use. In order to get that coverage I needed to buy the most expensive coverage; that is, the full coverage. I think that this tactic for getting customers to buy full coverage is awful.

"Compact" doesn't or perhaps shouldn't mean sacrificing expenses on specific car items. For example, when my sister pulled down the passenger visor to fix herself, there was NO MIRROR! Crust!! Although this car got me where it needed me to get to--thank you!--it just seemed like a REALLY laughable car (on your part) that would WANT to force me to upgrade. Kudos (and smart on your part) to you if you intended for that! I had to choose this last minute car. That I got a card, I was happy. The price, however, was a heavy pill I HAD to swallow.
