I would it recommend anyone rent through hertz. The process to pick up was extremely long and unorganized. We paid for an upgraded vehicle through kayak and then forced to pay again through hertz and still received less than a compact vehicle. The vehicle was unsafe to drive we found broken glass in the trunk and realized they gave us a car that was in an accident and the tire was bald resulting in a flat. They asked for us to take the tire to a repair shop ourselves. The bill we then received from hertz included numbers is miscellaneous charges. Rent from any other company not hertz!

There was an extremely unpleasant situation with the application of tariffs by the Sixt. The car was with a strange set of options. For example, there were no parking sensors, but at the same time, the car had more advanced, but less popular options.

I only needed the car for the day but they don’t have an after hours drop off so I had to pay for overnight parking at the hotel. No way I was parking on the street.

I am familiar with Israelis and the lack of good customer service but I was very disappointed when we dropped off the car at how bad the customer service was in general. The car was fine. It came filthy on the outside which I didn’t care about but when the brushed away some dirt they tried to tell me I had an accident. It is disappointing that the people at the desk couldn’t lift their eyes from the computer screens to talk to a customer like a person.

If you rent for 1-2 days you have a limited amount of km to use (only 250km). If you exceed this, they charge 0.40 for every extra km. For us, we had to pay double the rental price because of this, it was excessive.

Kayak improperly filtered unlimited mileage and sent me to a third party (QEEQ) that had only up to 250km. Ended up losing money and could not cancel the rental. Not using again. Bad experience.

Pros: Excellent pick up location in Tel Aviv city center as it was right next to the hotel we were staying at. With $39.50 usd more, we were allowed to return the vehicle at TLV. Rental price is reasonable. Cons: They required an official letter from CC company if you want to decline the insurance. Huge inconvenience to travellers as we weren’t advised of this at the time of booking. Unable to collect Aeroplan miles at this location. Provided my British Airways # instead. Points haven’t shown on account yet but it has only been a few days. Rental cars are not allowed to cross the border to Jordan. Vehicle was rundown. It was not cleaned interior or exterior. Chips here and there.

Friendly and efficient service both ends. The vehicle was new and in good condition. Car rental costs have become super expensive lately but I can at least say that Budget was the best price in the circumstances. I would definitely use them again
