Public transport in Thailand reflects the city well, in that even the simplest plan can change in an instant. Generally, we advise you to avoid the buses and taxis as they are prone to getting caught in traffic jams, instead taking the sky train or the metro. The Millennium Hilton Bangkok is a good choice out of all the hotels in Thailand. Another city that we recommend you visit is Chiang Mai, all the way up in the north of the country. There is no public transport in Chiang Mai, and so we recommend that you take the songthaew if you need to travel around the city. Generally, tourists are safe to walk around the cities in Thailand, but we recommend that you walk with friends if possible or take a tuk-tuk and split the bill.
