The car reeked of cigarette smoke. We have 2 kids under 2 and would never have expose them to 3rd hand smoke. We were driving to the DE beach and by the time we were sure it was smoke we were too far from the airport without time to complain and get a new vehicle. Very disappointed

Pros:Staff at pick up was very friendly but told me I couldn't return the car to the location for which I had a confirmed booking. She said that location had been closed. I had to choose a different location and rebook. This caused me to have to arrange a different pick up and more time.

Cons:If they updated their site to not allow me to book a drop off at a closed location.

I am a Hertz Gold member but, by booking through Kayak, they didn't give me any amenities. I waited 30 minutes for my dar in BWI.

Our reservation was at 8 am at BWI. Huge line at the counter so my husband didn’t get up there until 845. Then we had to wait two hours for our car to be ready. Destroyed our whole travel plan for the day. We had just gotten off an international flight with a baby and a dog. The last insult was that Hertz wanted us to return the car two days later at the time my husband got to the counter, instead of when he actually got the car!
