Friendly staff and efficient pick-up and drop-off. The vehicle was not thoroughly cleaned with sand on the seats and floors, a deteriorated rear wiper blade and smearing on the inside of the windshield.

The car was available and worked great the whole trip. However, it took a very long time to check in, find a car and leave when we picked up. I was not picky at all. The car they decided to give me changed 3 times before I could leave. Then it turned out that the person who sent me off with the car didn’t complete the paperwork properly, so I had to wait in the office for someone to fix it and print me a receipt. Not the end of the world, but not the smoothest experience I’ve had, by far.

They refused to provide transportation from the airport so we canceled our reservation. Who doesn’t have a kiosk at the airport or transport to their rental office? We were told to Uber or pay $45 for a taxi. Pretty sure they were happy to NOT HAVE our business.

Truck wasn’t cared for and seems far older than it is. Didn’t have windshield washer fluid in it which suggests routine maintenance is skipped. Also had to wait forever to pick it up.

It needs to be stated that this is a SMALL office within the resort. The address maps out to the resort that this Hertz is inside of, nothing in the confirmation informs of this. It’s referred to as the “Downtown Lihue Hertz” and that it isn’t at the airport. I did not expect to pick up car at a resort. Was very confusing. Everything else was great.

Not enough employees to check you in. Once checked in, it took 30 mins to get my car. The lot was filled with cars with the same model, but they said my car was being washed. How can they check me in and assign me a car when it wasn’t ready? At one point, the line of people waiting to pick up their car was longer than those waiting to check in.

The car was ok, however, it smelled like it was wet inside. The pick up process was a real nightmare. It took almost 2 hours. Budget is completely unprepared and under staffed. It's a shame. Never again

A terrible experience across the board. Over an hour wait to get the car at a site that was clearly disorganized and not service-oriented. I tried 5 times to extend my rental (3 different calls, and 2 visits to the site) and no one answered as able to explain the rate doubling despite being able to book a new reservation at more than half the rate less. Made no sense and not only could people not explain why, no one seemed to care to resolve the matter. Horrible experience that didn’t seem hard to get right. Never again.

The check in process is very slow. Once we checked in and signed papers, they had us wait outside for our car, it “wouldn’t be long”. It took two hours. A dozen people standing around in the heat not understanding why the delay was occurring.

Picking up at Lihue Airport is slow as molasses, for every car rental company. The lines are sooo long! But once we got our car, everything was great. And we saved quite a bit of money compared to Hertz or Avis.

Unfortunately the amount of characters allowed will not constitute enough to give an accurate assessment of the horrible experience at Payless car rental. In short, IT WAS HELL! It appeared extremely overbooked and extremely understaffed

3 hour wait to get the car. Had a leak in the back right tire I had to fill a few times. Drop off was chaos. They are severely understaffed but taking reservations as if they are fully operational. Cost us a half a day of our vacation

Watch what you're getting charged for before you reserve your rental car! I thought i was paying $297 for a week plus $92 for prepaid gas upon return, which i thought at the time was an amazing deal. When I picked up the car, taxes and add on expenses jacked it up to $379 and I got charged $118 after for the gas. I ended up paying $500 which was not clearly disclosed to me beforehand. I had to go online to ask for a receipt, which took a few days to receive. The car itself suited our needs and didn't break down, so that was good. The staff at the location never answer their phones either, they seem understaffed which was annoying, My questions could have been answered over the phone.

Terrible. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. It took more than 3 hours from the time I got to the car rental location to finally get a car and the employees had horrible attitudes about their repeated failures and inability to explain the mistakes they kept making. Rent somewhere else. It was a total nightmare.

The van was comfortable for a family of 5. Checkin and drop off were relatively smooth. Unfortunately the vehicle was not completely clean when we picked it up. Despite their promise to clean out all the pockets and cup holders, there was a whole stash of trash in the one compartment. Otherwise a decent experience.

Our rental had a low pressure warning after the first 5 days. No documentation in car on how to clear it after adding air and finding pressures were good. Returned to Enterprise and they gave us a replacement in roughly 5 minutes, let us pick our replacement, no charge for 3/4 tank of fuel.

The pick up location was away from the airport and we had to take a cab who ripped us off to get there. But the agent there (Jeff) was very nice and accommodating, upgraded us to a brand new SUV and let us drop the car at the airport for no additional fee. All in all a great experience.

Airport location was oversold and had to be redirected to an off site location. Both sites were closed by 5pm and I had to wait until the following morning to pick up.
