Upon arrival, Thrifty Car Rental did not have a car available! We were left without any choice but to rent a vehicle from Budget Car Rental at 3x the price. Will never use Thrifty or Kayak again!!

I had to wait almost 1 hour for my vehicle, offered a lower class vehicle for the same rate, cost to insure the vehicle is very high and I had to search for the manager because the employee would not call him. The good news is that the manager comp me for some of the rental fees.

The rate was very competitive.

The location was extremely hard to find, inside the hotel. Very little signage around. I had prepaid and when I arrive there were no cars available. I had to ask if they could call another location to see if there was another car for me. (They did. There wasn't.) I waited for them to clean a newly arrived car. There's also no way to contact the location itself rather than the 800 number. I had to return 1.5 weeks early because my father had a medical emergency and the 800 number wouldn't issue me any refund, saying I had to talk to the location itself, which I could never find a number for. I was in the hospital with my dad for 2 weeks and couldn't drive over or spend the time fighting. Crappy service.

I thought the pick up was easy, but when I arrived to get the car, I was told I would be charged a $3.40 fee. I thought I'd paid in full online. I don't like hidden charges no matter how minimal. The car was clean inside, but it could've used a better washing on the exterior. Also, when I went to turn the car in a day early, the placed where I picked it up closed early, and I had to drop it off about 2 miles away. I was charged an extra $20 for that. I am not happy that I got charged after turning it in a day early and the original rental place was closed having to pay extra money.

I would've appreciated being reminded of Triple A discount benefits to help cut down my costs. But in my hurry, I failed to remember myself. Otherwise the car was ready and cleaned and was the perfect most comfortable experience traveling up to Big Bear with my family. We all felt safe and in luxury with the new 2022 Suburban I chose.
