The vehicle had an expired inspection sticker, a maintenance needed message popped up early in the week, one front tire had a terrible shimmy, and one seat was ripped. I can live with that, but they hit us with a no-show fee the day after we picked up the vehicle and they are resistant to reversing the fee on a vehicle that we picked up.

It was an okay experience. The woman at the counter was great. My issues came with the reservation and the trash left in the vehicle. I reserved a large truck, and when I got there was told there wasn’t one. I had to take a small truck and was luckily able to make it work for my application. They discounted the rental and that helped. There were a handful (5-6) old rental packets in the glove compartment/center console and we found bits of food under the seat. Vehicle was newer and drove well. We will rent from them again.

I was charged for gas despite filling it 2 miles from airport, getting the fuel shutoff twice which indicated to me it was full and gauge showing full. Not okay and I cancelled our reservation for a week later and used National. Actions have consequences, I emailed the company and had no reply so bye bye Budget, I respond by taking my business elsewhere.

When my rental had a bubble in the tire I was first asked if I could fix it, next I was asked to drive 37 miles to change it out, third I was asked to drive 27 miles to a repair shop, and lastly, only after I asked, was a service truck sent to my location.

The negatives I have were based on the small size of the car, which I chose and the price which was a little less than other rental agencies. I had never been in a Nissan Sentra and never will be again. Rental car rates are more than double what they were before. I have to accept that, but I don’t have to accept that it represents decent value. Everything else was fine.
Colby was great at the Hertz office: easy to work with, accommodating of my needs as an out of town traveler. Would definitely use this Hertz office again

Kayak led me to rent a car away from the airport and hertz would not allow me to pick up or drop off at the airport because I prepaid with kayak. Lesson learned. No more kayak.

The local Hertz rental counter called and left a message for me an hour or so after I booked my reservation…. to tell me there would be no car available for me to rent. Wow! Very frustrating…
90 min for car to be ready, even tho my reservation was for 3 hours earlier.. bottlenecks cleaning car

I paid for a mid sized SUV and instead was given a car no bigger than a sedan. My whole goal in paying TRIPLE the price for an suv was to feel safer while driving in the snow (there was a major snowstorm while I was there). When I complained at the counter, the lady said there was nothing she could do even though there were bigger SUVs available in the lot. Instead, I slid and slipped multiple times and was terrified I’d get into an accident. It was traumatic.

Poorly staffed, huge backup at pickup counter. Apparently they did not have staff to clean returns. After waiting almost an hour we chose to take a "dirty" car just to get out of there. The counter staff was pleasant, felt bad for them having to deal with the situation.

The car wasn’t really dirty but could have been a bit cleaner, especially the inside of the windshield. That said, overall I was happy with my experience with Avis at the Burlington VT airport, the car, and personnel. I’d rent from them again.

The additional fees that I incurred were outrageous. Almost $500 for renting a 4 cylinder non-luxury vehicle. I’m sickened by the price and will never use Avis again after their lack of communication, and uncalled for prices. It was not worth the money.
