What a mess. I got to the rental car booth to pick up my car only to be told that I had to go back into the terminal to get my information to then go back to stand in another line to get my car. I waited about an extra 20 minutes and ended up missing part of an event which was the whole reason I flew into SC. The worker getting the cars really needed extra support. When I got my car, it was DIRTY. There were dried leaves and junk all over the car. It was actually embarrassing to drive it was so dirty. The car was only filled about 2/3 of gas. The car drove fine other than my vision was blocked by all the crud on the back windshield. When I went to return the car, there was one worker and about 50 cars piled up and blocking the entrance to return the car. I had to park on a throughway in the garage and just left the car there and let the worker know. Seems like they were way understaffed as there were about 15 people lined up being shuttled to another budget location to get their cars. What a mess. Overall poor experience, especially for what I paid.

Paid for full size car with full tank of gas. Got SUV with empty gas tank and was told it was full and to return it full or pay.

We reserved a convertible, but we’re told that none were available when we went to pick it up (due to circumstances genuinely beyond their control). They told us to check back the next morning. I called, and was told that we could exchange our car for a convertible at a location near us, but we would have to wait until noon. At noon, we went to that location, only to be told that they had no reservation for us, and certainly didn’t have a convertible in any case. So, we ended up leaving with the original car several hours later than planned. We then decided to return the car two days early, given assurances when we picked it up that we would not be charged for any days we did not use. When we dropped the car off, there was no-one available to issue a drop-off receipt. When I finally did find an employee, I was told to just leave the keys in the car, and they would just email me a receipt when they checked it in. They ended up checking it in the next day (over 12 hours after I dropped it off) but charged us for the full rental. Very dissatisfied. Will not be renting from Budget again.

Our air plane flight was delayed twice. After calling Budget several time I finally got ahold of someone to let them know of our delayed flight and we wouldn’t be able to pickup the car at 6:00pm and informed them the car pickup will be delayed to later that day or the next morning depending on our flight. The price got almost doubled for the delayed pickup.
