Very slow service in Buffalo. Charges not explained well. Extra charge put on at drop off that had no explanation. Contacted customer service and they have been very helpful. They responded quickly and rectified things.
Waited 20 minutes for them to bring a car and then the vehicle was a real beater…..lots of scratches and dents. The vehicle should have been retired from the fleet long ago.

There was a very long and lengthy line up at the counter for Avis pick up, when we got the vehicle, it was still super dirty, stains and spills all over console, dash and steering wheel, windows very so greasy it was hard to see out of at night, we had to spend 2 hours to clean the car..... not very impressed.

Your employees should be changed, they have no smile on their face, they look like they are in white house and we are from foreign country.
Pick up bleu cheese chunks. My wife is losing her mind, still, three days later. She’s basically a crazy person, but she thinks robots would be way better at serving the needs of the frequent flyer. An hour wait seems excessive (Wife: “Felt like traversing the 3rd-to-last layer of Hell”). Further, if there’s a delay in securing the vehicle, the full rental agreement length should be honored. With an extra hour on the return, my wife could’ve had her frickin’ Buffalo wings from Duff’s. Peace. PS. Pick-up dude was great. And the whole experience was good overall. My wife really is obsessing over the standing-in-line part, but it wasn’t terrible. I can’t remember the last time renting a car was simple/smooth, so this is totally in line with what I’ve come to expect.

Used kayak to order a rental from hertz in niagra falls. Somehow it got switched to Buffalo so me and all last 2 other families had to get ubers too and from the rental place that was 30 minutes from the airport

We arrived at the pick up location at 4:50 pm and our pick up time is 5:00 pm. However, the store closes at 5:00pm and when we arrived there, the store had closed and we could not pick up our car in any way.

Pick up was fine. The car was clean ish but smelled kind of like urine. Drop off was not good. Workers standing around but noone came to accept the drop off. We went inside to drop off the keys and made note of the mileage, gas and time of drop off as per the instructions. The employee said that the information was already logged as the system is electronic. He also told me that I had to pay for a fuel surcharge because the gas tank wasn't completely full. I actually returned the car with more gas than when I picked it up and they still charged me! I filled up 8 miles from the drop off location and explained this to him. He was nice and seemed to empathize but said there was nothing he could do. Beware and go somewhere else!!!
Because I accidentally rented for August 6 not July 6, they would not refund my money.

The drop off was fine. But the pick up was not good at all. When I first got in line, there were two employees working the counter. They were making fun of how long it was taking and laughing at the situation not very urgent or a desire to help customers very much. It took a very long time to get to the counter and then to get in my rental car. I was lucky to get a car however everybody behind me was told that the car rental place was closing, and that they could not help anybody else. Just very poor customer service in general.

Although Kayak allowed me to book it, evidently Dollar does not respect reservations made less than 24 hours in advance. We Ubered across the Canadian border for $300 just to be turned away by Dollar and everyone else. Worst travel experience ever.

I had to returnthe first car becasue of a slow leak in the back tire. I called the number provided on the contract and was provided with another car. This car did not have a USB port for charging my phone- very inconvient. Staff members were very helpful. The car was clean. It was a littel pricey though.

Didn’t even get a car. They are telling me because of covid they have no car. Can we stop using covid as an excuse please? Thank you. I Uber to the airport and wasted money and time. Stood in a line for 45 mins only to be told I needed a 24 hour reservation because they have a car shortage! Great. No one told me because kayak is a third party website. Lesson learned. Don’t book via third parties
