Car was not cleaned externally. Had dings dents and scratches all over it that were conveniently not shown in the photos the Layton Hertz took. Also, the car had a recall warning saying it may stall out while driving and to take it to the dealer if this happens. I called to share my concerns with the cleanliness and now safety of the vehicles that I paid nearly $300 for a one day rental for. For the pictures, the Hertz rental in Layton sent me pictures of the car not documenting any of the dents, scratches or damage already done to it. Thankfully, I took my own photos before driving it off the lot. When I explained to Marissa that it is frustrating and odd that the car wasn’t cleaned, she insisted the way clean every car and that the photos were taken the same day. She never once tried to be understanding or asked for my photos that I took versus the ones they took to understand the concern. She thought I was ridiculous for being concerned that a scam was being ran on me which I think is a reasonable concern considering the situation. When discussing the service light/warning she responded by telling me that ALL corollas stall while driving them and I shouldn’t be concerned. By this point I had absolutely no patience left and couldn’t even finish a sentence without marissa yelling and interrupting me all because she didn’t want to stop and try to underestand how this was simply NOT an acceptable vehicle to rent out in the condition it was in, nor was the customer (me) properly communicated with. I will never be renting from this hertz again and will be making sure everyone I know is aware of my experience to save them the hassle.
