The line at the counter was incredibly long. Way too long, so we went with another car rental company. Not a great experience. When they have that many reservations, they need to make adjustments in the scheduling of employees

I had reserved a mid-size car. when we got to the airport, all they had available was a pick up truck or a sports car. Not very comfortable for four people and luggage.

The car had scratches all over it. When I arrived at the drop-off location they tried to blame one of the scratches on me (a scratch that I know was pointed out by the initial agent in Fresno where I picked up the car). I had to fill out an incident report even though the "incident" was the initial agent's failure to do her job properly. Still awaiting word from Budget as to what they decide. What I learned is that you need to video the whole encounter of the walk through to ensure you aren't fleeced for damages already done to a rental car. I will never rent with Budget again.

A car was available. However, there were several problems. First, I searched for airport pickup but the search gave me Downtown Fresno location, which I did not notice when booking so it is my mistake. The car I got was smelling horribly of weed, even though Avis made a big deal about smoke-free cars. It was so bad that we had to keep windows open in 100 degree weather. Really bad experience.

When I arrived to pick up car they told me they don’t do one way pickups from this location. When I showed them my reservation, they said it doesn’t matter because they’re a franchise and not corporate. Don’t save yourself time and hassle and don’t rent at this location. After 2 hours on the phone with Avis corporate, they gave me a car that wasn’t cleaned at all. One of back mirrors was scratched to the point you couldn’t see anything out of it.

All personnel at pick up and drop off were very personable (patient, dedicated and respectful). However, at airport, counter was short staffed and it took an hour for me to get checked in and get vehicle. Car was great! At drop off, there was some issue refunding to my card so I had to use a second card. Not sure if that issue was with Enterprise or my card company. Will definitely rent from Enterprise again.

Breaks squeaked drives side windshield was dirty and hard to clean once we got somewhere we could clean it. Terrible when sun was coming through. There was no one around when we returned car to lot to tell us what the return protocol was.

The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and professional. The car was clean and the pick up and drop off were super easy. They even sent a taxi to collect me from my accommodation to get me to their offices to collect my hire car. Would highly recommend Hertz in Fresno.

They gave us car options. The gal at the counter was very nice and friendly. They were willing to work with me on gas fill up when car was being returned. I really appreciated that. They said if it was half way full or better they would share in cost of fill up. The little things like that is why I will be back. What could’ve been better: It took awhile for all the paperwork. They need more help at peak times. Long line to drop off.

Dollar failed to honor my reservation. I was yelled at by the two men at the Dollar desk for showing them my reservation. They told me they didn't have a car reserved for me and ordered me to leave. I have been traveling for business for the past 14 years and I have never been treated so poorly and with such contempt as I was by the two men working for Dollar. I will never use Kayak or Dollar again.

We were told the car was there when we called ahead of time. Upon arriving, it wasn't there and we had to pay more for another car. What's the point of reserving a car if it's not going to be there, and then I have to pay more! Also, it was difficult to find because it was closed, and I had to go to Herzt. How was I supposed to know where to go?
