I liked the SixT. I reserved a car here in San Francisco for a pick up from Paris. When I arrived rental place, the agent was very friendly, he tried to find me an automatic car for my need. I enjoyed driving the car for 10 days. I would like to rent a car from them again in the future.

The pickup in Paris was rough. There was no pre-inspection done so I had to take video and send to Sixt but they never confirmed receipt of the video. The attendant was overwhelmed and I had to go to a parking garage 2 blocks away and navigate my way to the car, get it out, come and pick up my family on a very busy street, all with little detailed instructions. The attendant was not there when I came to pickup my family who were waiting at the Sixt kiosk on the busy street...it was a fiasco. After that though the car was great and our 30 days with it through Europe was a blast. The drop off at FCO in Rome went well, as far as I know.

I prepaid through Kayak. I got to the Hertz office a couple of hours after the designated pick up time, but figured it was not an issue since I prepaid for the entire reservation. I have had the same situation in the US and in Canada, so why should this be different? But it was. The agent told me that my reservation had been cancelled because I was over an hour past the start of the reservation, and that there were no more cars available. When I pushed back and said that the 'policy' which she was relaying was nowhere in my rental agreement with Kayak nor in any other experience that I had previously with Hertz, suddenly two cars were available, but both at a markup over what I already paid. I needed a car, so I paid it. I will follow up with Hertz as well to let them know of this issue. Buyer beware - Hertz in Paris (at least the 99 Rue Rivoli location) is shady!

Very slow process in picking car up. Our agent was very helpful but it didn't look as though the other two agents were doing much of anything. Return was very hard to find - have to go inside to return the keys (at least in the Term 2 A-B-C-D lot) - and, again, very slow. But at least there were no unexpected charges

We rented a car with Hertz from Paris CDG. Firstly they gave us an electric car when we had reserved a non-electric. No way to change it on site. I tried to reach customer service but they told me I had to call Paris CDG directly. Problem is that they do not ever pick up the phone. I had to drive back to the agency to sort it out. Afterwards I had to change my drop-off location. Again - impossible to do this over the phone. I had to once again call the CDG agency who never picks up the phone. Yet again I had to drive to the CDG agency a 2nd time! 0/10 on customer service. Hertz never again.

Awful experience with car breaking down and not being able to reach anyone at roadside assistance, or customer service AT ALL. Stranded in the middle of nowhere & had to make our own way back to Paris.. distressed am spending hundreds of extra $$$ to not miss a flight home. Still have yet to receive a single phone call from Hertz.
