car was good and the type we had requested shuttle bus was no where near the every 5 minutes or so and was quite packed (not covid friendly) staff at hertz/budget was overwhelmed - too many customers, too few knowledgeable staff when returning car I asked about payment for 'toll by plate' - probably about $5 worth that I hadn't anticipated (no cash lanes) the clerk who was there at returns said he could take care of it right there.... and rang up a charge of $73 or so! - to cover 'all tolls for a week' - we said no thanks !- he said a bill would be mailed - why not just withhold what we owe from the $200 credit card deposit taken at the time of pick up? why should anyone try to sell an old couple a $70+ for a week of tolls - I mentioned it was a small amount- and perhaps a little convenience

Did not realize until we got to FL that our rental was off-site of the airport. Hertz agent at airport told us we needed to get a taxi to pick up car. No problem. We got our car, a Mission, roomy enough for my husband to get in and out of. Drop off was easy and they called a taxi for us.

Consistent with other thank cars the insides of the windows are very dirty. Windshield is especially dirty and streaked making it hard to see clearly at night. I shouldn't have to clean the windows. The white interior was stained - looks like tanning products making yellow / orange blotches. The cup holders were dirty and it looked like ashes in the bottom. Service at pick up was excellent, drop off was unmanned and not known in advance.

They did not have the type car I rented. Only had 2 cars available. The one we got was 3 or 4 levels below what we reserved and paid for. The car was dirty, banged up and the service light was on saying it was 2000+ miles past service time! The USB port was broken so we could not use our gps on the phone without using up our battery with no way to re-charge. All in all the worst rental car experience we have ever had.

My experience with dollar was horrible. When I got there I wait 1 hour in line then when I got to the desk they told my the car I rented wasn’t there. I would have to wait 2-3 hours for the car and if I wanted a different car it would be $75 a day. The person at the desk was smiling and laughing and the manager refused to talk to me. They finally gave me a van for an extra $10 a day which was more than I was supposed to pay but they refused to let me leave with a vehicle otherwise. Then they van broke down immediately leaving the parking lot. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

We made a reservation months ago, but when we went to pick up the car, they told us there was a 1-2 hour wait until they’d have a car ready for us. We had been lucky to have on-time flights, but then ended up with a two-hour “delay” because of the car rental! :( Staff was friendly, car was good, and drop-off experience was quick and easy, so it wasn’t ALL bad, but not a great start! The rep at pick-up also tried to upswell big time with the $75 gas tank and told us we may not be able to get gas near by because places have been running out lately (spoiler alert: we filled up around the corner without a problem). Her explanation of the insurance coverage was confusing too.

I made a reservation in October of 2022. When I got to the Dollar Car Rental location they had my reservation but no available car. I was told to go sit on the bench outside with the other people who were also waiting for cars. No one came out to speak with any of us. After 2 hours I went back in asking for an update. Lame and disappointing experience. Budget counter was closed, it was being served by Avis. The employee tried to charge me $18 a day because the didn't have the car I've rented. Explained, in a very rude attitude, that's their policy when you rent thru 3rd party. First time I see this non sense. Kept me, and my 8 year old daughter, waiting for a manager for 1.30 hours at 12am. Finally she proceed to "make an exemption" and gave us a dirty, smelly and pretty beaten Kia Soul.

We waited over 30 minutes for the shuttle from the airport to the Budget lot, making several calls to the phone numbers listed with no service. Eventually we paid the driver of a different rental company’s shuttle to take us to the budget lot. They’re insanely understaffed. When we dropped the car off we were charged for fuel even though we had filled the fuel and had proof of such. The line was about 30 customers deep so we couldn’t do anything about it without missing our flight back.

It was an overall bad experience. I booked a car 6 weeks prior to the day of pickup. When I went to the front desk to go over paperwork, that was when they said that they didn’t have the car that I asked for & that I had to pick a new vehicle. The gentleman explained that I had to pay a $1000 collateral on top of the new vehicle & my new total went up to $1141. With my original vehicle, it was probably gonna be around $250 total. I had a friend with me that we changed the name under & she only paid around $400 for being out of state. On top of that, customer service was bad & no people skills were shown. Overall, most likely my one & o lot time using Fox

The car made an insane vibrating bass sound that people could hear from outside, it sounded like there was some black market subwoofer in there. I rented this car to attend my grandfathers FUNERAL. I’m in the procession sounding like I’m blasting bass filled music! I tried to call them to be like what on earth and they never answered. When I returned the vehicle and reported the noise to them they were like “oh yeah we know about that, this type of car is probably going to get recalled because they all make that noise.” Seems like something one would mention BEFORE. Also took like 45 minutes to get the car because they had one person at the desk and the people in front of us didn’t have a shred of the details they needed so there was just a line forming behind them. Also the car was overdue for an oil change by THREE THOUSAND miles and the car kept sending an alert about how the oil life was at 0%. When I told them this when dropping off the car they were just like “oh yeah we know”

Patrick at pick up was very friendly. He told me to park right outside the door when dropping off. When returning the car in the pouring rain, I parked it outside where he told me and ran inside to tell them. I was informed that I needed to park the car under the canopy of the hotel. So in the pouring rain, I got back into the car and drove it to underneath the hotel canopy. I was told to wait there for the van to take me to the airport. The van did not stop at the hotel, but in front of the Easirent door. I had to hurry through the hotel to get to the van before it left and flag it down myself so that the driver knew I needed a ride. A third time I had to go into the pouring rain to get into the van. All that said, I was not too pleased with the drop off experience! And I was VERY wet.
