It wasn't Europcar but Priveless rental. Your website said the rental agency was in the terminal, but it was 20 minutes away in heavy traffic. The car was old, worn and a bit dirty. You should never say the car rental is in the terminal when it's so far away. Also there were huge hidden charges that weren't disclosed on the rental listing. The people at the rental agency, however, were nice, but that wasn't enough to make up for the gross inconvenience and the 5-year old car that wasn't the greatest.

I did not end up using europcar in Costa Rica as they try an charge you an outrageous amount for insurance (no refundable $500) even though I already purchased insurance abd the car prior for $120 total. Working on getting my refund back , better off renting from the locale

Awful experience. Reserved rate wasn’t honored at all. Tried to charge me 5x as much at the counter with a multiple thousand dollar “deposit”. Had to walk away. Would never try to rent from them in Costa Rica again.

I canceled my rental car. The people, QEEQ.com, returned my money immediately. I bought the zero deductible insurance from the same web page and the money wasn't returned for the rental. I phoned Alliance and they said that they were putting in a request for the return of my money but I haven't received it as yet.

The staff were able to answer all of my questions quickly, whether over the phone or through their online messaging system. Make sure to ask about SLI, aka car insurance, as there are different options and it can be somewhat expensive. Overall, I had a great experience and will be returning to Dollar car rental the next time I'm in Costa Rica!

We had rental vehicles for 3 month stay in CR. Initially rented a small 4WD vehicle for wife and me, then traded for larger 4WD when 3 more family members arrived. Staff at main office made exchange smooth. Subsequently had some issues with the battery-controlled key device (for locking/unlocking doors), but office staff provided a replacement immediately and without question. While we never really needed 4WD (even while fording couple of shallow streams), high clearance was helpful on poorly maintained dirt roads. Whatsapp communication on several occasions with Jorge, my primary contact in main office, was quick and efficient. Senior agent provided his direct phone number to facilitate future rentals if we return. I strongly recommend this organization.

Great customer service and no issues with the reservation. The front desk gave us an overview of Costa Rican traffic laws and helped us select the best insurance. They even gave us some other travel tips we used throughout our vacation! Will definitely use them again!

I purchased car insurance when I booked the rental and upon arrival I was notified that the Allianz insurance I purchased is not valid in Costa Rica and I had to purchase insurance directly there which added an additional $225 to our rental. Kayak shouldn’t offer car insurance if it’s not accepted in that country.

I never rented the car with them. When we arrived the man who were on the Avis front desk at Crowne Plaza Corobicí Hotel decided that he didn’t want to rent the car to us. So we never got the car and it was a big problem for us and our family vacation.
