Friendly staff, good options available at pick up, easy drop-off, no issues with the car, prices are generally high in Canada regardless of rental car company.

As of October 2021, the Calgary airport is under construction so it is chaotic to pickup/drop-off the car with non-standard routes, and congested rental parking. In addition, I was caught by some unfortunate marketing, having reserved a "Compact SUV" and was offered a Crossover class vehicle (Hyundai Kona) -- While the Kona is a fine vehicle, was clean and served the need, when selecting a Compact SUV, I was expecting something larger commonly defined by that class such as the Ford Escape or Kia Sportage, or even the Chevy Equinox (something larger than a hatchback car) and was disappointed by this.

it took over an hour of arguing and producing email correspondence on the booking details in order to get the vehicle at the rental rate that was quoted on line and verified by email. After this was resolved and I had paperwork in hand to go collect the Ford Expedition that was booked, they couldn't find the vehicle but had the keys in hand. We agreed to downsize to s smaller Dodge Darango at a reduced rate. When returning the Dodge, the staff checked the car and entered the details. I was asked if an email copy of the receipt was fine, I requested a printed copy and the final balance. The amount was back to the original value that had been disputed at time of pickup, about $400 more than agreed. They finally found the correct amount and said it was adjusted accordingly. They were having problems with their computer system and couldn't print an invoice. They said one would be emailed right away. I had a plane to catch so it was left at that. It is now over 48 hours since leaving Calgary Canada and I'm in my office at Albury Australia, still no receipt of final billing from Alamo.
