The only thing I would recommend for travelers. We went on toll roads. Attendant when we rented should have explained how it worked with rental. We asked when we got to Newark, but would have been nice to know right away
Had a reserved car for 11am but did not get it until 1230. Did not appear to be enough staff or vehicles ready.
Pick up bleu cheese chunks. My wife is losing her mind, still, three days later. She’s basically a crazy person, but she thinks robots would be way better at serving the needs of the frequent flyer. An hour wait seems excessive (Wife: “Felt like traversing the 3rd-to-last layer of Hell”). Further, if there’s a delay in securing the vehicle, the full rental agreement length should be honored. With an extra hour on the return, my wife could’ve had her frickin’ Buffalo wings from Duff’s. Peace. PS. Pick-up dude was great. And the whole experience was good overall. My wife really is obsessing over the standing-in-line part, but it wasn’t terrible. I can’t remember the last time renting a car was simple/smooth, so this is totally in line with what I’ve come to expect.
Hertz did not honor the booking and said they have no cars. They would not recognize Kayak reservation and I had to cancel my plans.
I appreciated the ability to get a slightly better vehicle for the money using the “manager special” option, but I’m also aware that’s a crapshoot and dependent upon what they have available at any time. Although I got an upgrade, it was a smoked-in vehicle, and rags from the cleaning crew were left in the vehicle.
