The staff member that helped us when we picked up was amazing. She was working with what she was delivered from the airport which were smoked in dirty, beat up cars. She was so frutrated with the cars conditions and the lack of caring when she called the main office she upgraded us to a larger vehicle which was the correct thing to do!
Thrifty needs to care about the cars that are availabel to the public to rent. The girl at facility when we picked up went over the no smoking rules with everything else, we actually said no problem because myself and our youngest are extremely sensative and allergic to cigarette smoke..She pulled up in the first car..got out and said well its clean but it says on ticket had been smoked in. We could tell when we sat in car for a second.we said it will not work! The second car smelled as if someone had just smoked marijuana and got out. The moment we opened the car door I got a headache from the smell..UNEXCEPTABLE!!!!! she then called the main office and they gave her trouble and sounded like they could care less. There were also extra fees that were not mentioned on the site when I booked it..limitations to states we could not drive it to. NONE of that was listed. We paid the extra fee (280$) so we could drive our trip..Thank god we were not going out west because we would have been screwed! We were not happy to find out about this when we picked the car up! I have tried calling the GM of St Louis Thrifty(Jeff) twice and have yet to hear back from him! We will never rent from Thrifty again!!
