The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a problem with the vehicle having a faulty tire on the way back to the Budget shop and had to deal with a flat. The roadside service representative informed us that the tire tread was too low, and that the tire tread was pulling away from the tire on the inside - and was highly likely in that poor condition when we first picked up the vehicle. As a result, I would suggest that Budget make closer safety inspections of their vehicles. This was an incredible imposition, and could have been an extremely dangerous outcome if we had not stopped when we had.

Like having a known company. Have rented from other companies where I had to go to some little office well off site. Hertz rental location was easy to find, clean and well staffed. I knew that I could return the car after office hours and find someone there to return the car to. Their choice of car options was also important. Finally they offered a generous mileage allowance - 700 miles for 7 days.

Liked the car but didn’t realize it came with only 100 miles/day. So I had to upgrade which doubled the price. Took over an hour to find the bus and get to their off airport site. Two hour waiting in a queue with just one person checking everyone in. Felt so bad for couple in front of me who were going to miss their cruise do to horrible delay. On return the bus only came once an hour to return to Terminal 5! Never renting from them again!

On pick up we found scrapes on the car that weren’t marked on the paperwork so got them to correct it. Agreement was for 100 miles per day this was changed to just 71 miles. Very disappointed. Checking the car back in was very quick and trouble free.

Price when booking changed on pick up. Best to talk directly to company than book on line from overseas to ensure currency exchange. On booking we were given a price in Australian dollars for charge of hire and informed no payment was needed prior to pick up and to make payment on site. On arrival the price increased by $300 and of course you pay it. The car was in excellent condition and ran well we also had free transfer to terminal from airport office. Apart from the price increased which we we were extremely unhappy about we cannot fault the car quality or condition

We got run flat twice and had to call AA service 3 times on the road during our 3 days trip. It was horrible service ever because AVIS didn't maintain rental car properly. The service was overdue and the alert has been on during the trip

We waited forever for a shuttle bus and when it turned up, it had room for 2 people. There were about 8 people in front of us and 7 in our party with 3 little kids. We'd just got off an 8hr overnight flight and the kids were cranky. The party in front of us let us go before them on the 3rd shuttle to show up, but that could only fit 3 people. It took forever to get our whole group to the actual Avis location, over several shuttle busses. The desk was really busy and my pre-booking took forever to process. Not the slickest operation, but the car was new & clean and ready for us. Price was ok, vehicle great, process poor.

When I booked a car you took £6 out of my bank abs I had the pay £40 when I got there, got all the way to London city airport to pick up my hire car only to be told it wasn't there some one using it kayak didn't update there list of availability and second was to be told I would have to pay a extra £50 on top of the £40 for a new car then to be told I had to pay a £200 for a holding fee which didn't explain when I booked the car so I will not be using these again
