Lotusmiles is the loyalty program for Vietnam Airlines. Passengers more than two years old can sign up for a Lotusmiles membership, which allows you to accumulate miles and convert them into rewards. There are four tiers within the Lotusmiles loyalty program: Silver, Gold, Titanium and Platinum. Benefits include upgrades, excess luggage allowance, access to business lounges, preferred seating and priority services at check-in, boarding, security and immigration. Members also enjoy a wide range of incentives from Lotusmiles partners, including discounts at hotels. Members can earn miles when they book Vietnam Airlines flights as well as its airline partners’ flights, including Alitalia, Delta, KLM and ANA.

Your luggage allowance depends on where you’re flying to, which class you’re flying and if you are a member of the loyalty program. The maximum weight of checked luggage for economy and premium economy passengers is 23kg, while business class passengers can carry bags up to 32kg. Hand luggage allowances for economy class passengers should not exceed 12kg and can include one item and one accessory. Premium economy and business class passengers are permitted to bring two hand luggage items and one accessory. If you are planning to bring extra items, you can purchase excess prepaid luggage before you depart. Vietnam Airlines will transport wheelchairs and prams for no extra charge. Bulky items such as bicycles and sports equipment including golf clubs, skis, snowboards and diving gear can be accommodated for with an additional fee on most Vietnam Airlines flights.

If you have a Vietnam Airlines reservation and are planning to travel with your pet, contact the airline at least 24 hours before departure. All pets are transported as checked luggage. Domestic dogs, cats and birds are permitted and should be kept within a kennel, with a maximum combined weight of 32kg. The carrier must be leak-proof, have proper ventilation and have enough space for your pet to move around. All service animals are permitted on board free of charge and must sit in front of the passenger.
