Everything was great except we had an incident with a lockout. We’ve never had an electronic key that could be locked in the vehicle. We called AvIs to get the door handle code and they declined to help.

I mistakenly scheduled my vehicle pick up two hours late. My rental was not ready, but the clerk offered me a larger SUV immediately for a slight increase in the price. It was a useful suggestion because I was worried that the SUV I had reserved was too small. So, it was constructive and worked out well.

Pick up was smooth and the service great. The only negative was the fact that I was not told that the office would be closed on drop off. Not a big deal but the return time was listed at 5 pm And they knew that the office closed at 4 They should have advised re: protocol for drop off.😯

Long Lines, far longer than the other rental carriers and noticed their customers in and out much faster than Budget. Car was in great shape and got great MPG for Alaska. The drop-off was somewhat strange, note: Gas Stations are a bit of a distance from the airport so keep that mind if you're planning on filling up before dropping off. The Key-Drop was unusual, luckily an attendant was there to assist.

Searched for 6 months and found this to be the best price in Anchorage. Reserved a sedan, but was upgraded to VW Tiguan at no extra charge. No difficulties with pickup or return. Not a Budget issue, but ANC should have more luggage carts available.

Budget pulled a bait and switch. I reserved a car in January 2022 for our June 2022 vacation. I received a confirmation. I was able to obtain a very good rate because I reserved it ahead of time. However when I called two days before our trip to reconfirm my reservation I was told that the reservation had been canceled. They claim that I canceled it, which I never did . Further there was no cancellation email ever received by me. When I asked to speak to a supervisor they transferred me to three or four different employees who either transferred me to someone else or hung up on me. When I finally was able to speak to someone they said they couldn’t help me, the reservation had been canceled and there’s nothing they can do. BUT, they said that they had the same car available that I had originally reserved and would be happy to rent it to me for THREE TIMES the original quoted price. Budget is a scam! I will never rent from them again. I would never recommend them to anyone.
Excellent all around except the airport pick up was not available as advertised.

Arrived an hour earlier than scheduled time, vehicle was ready. Customer service agent was knowledgeable and got us on our way quickly.
I like the car but it was smelly with cigarettes smoke. The previous renters smoke inside and didn’t clean it thoroughly for the next renter. Also, the staff at the front desk did not do anything to help me to rent the vehicle. I only have a debit card and a local and he refused to help me until I asked for his supervisor who helped me rent the car.

Check-in took a while, but everything else was great.
Pick up counter service was terrible!!!!! One person on the desk took 1 1/2 hrs. to get car and I was 5th person in line with another 10-15 people in line behind me!!! Car was good all other services where acceptable.

Hari took above-and-beyond care of us; we felt like we were so spoiled! And, everything about our trip in Alaska was lovely because she helped us get organized in places to visit for food and in our wrap-up in dropping the car off with extra time and a different location! Amazing experience. <3

There was no car. I got a confirmation number and the Enterprise people called the day before our trip and said the confirmation number and reservation was computer generated, not human. VERY upsetting since we were to spend ten days driving around Alaska. I will NEVER use Kayak again. Enterprise said they knew NOTHING of a reservation.

I reserved the car for 90 days at $19/day. Hertz told me that, because it was a long rental, I needed to come in so they could check the condition of the car after 30 days. When I brought it in, the said I could keep the car for the rest of the time on my contract but the daily rate would change from $19/day to $95/day for the remaining 60 days. If I didn't want to pay, my only other option was to turn in the car.

The agent that we worked with at the desk was friendly and did upsell us from a Chevy Spark to an VW Atlas SUV and did let us know that there would be a $60 price difference per day. We accepted that and accepted his initial final charge. He did NOT tell us the check out process with the car upon leaving the airport and no one was working at the booth for check out when we were leaving and we already were running late because the process took longer than it should have. The tank was only half full when we got the car and the car did not have America USB chargers for our phones (only micro USB). Again, had we known this, we would have not taken that car but again...there was no one working the booth and we had to be to our next appointment. Upon returning the car, the woman checking us is was not friendly or accommodating. Then, when we asked her for a copy of the checkout report after she told us "everything looks good, you are free to go" she let us know that someone would email us a copy along with a receipt. Well, we have not received a check in report or an itemized receipt and we were charged way more than we were had initially been told. We were already being price gouged for a three day car rental and now we have additional charges that we were not expecting. The whole process added stress to our trip and now is causing a massive headache after the fact.
